Residential Plan for Mature Site with Mixed Light

This design is for my residence in a 40-year old subdivision. The site had mature landscaping that needed an update. One of the major design flaws of the original site plan was that there was no sense of arrival and no front walk connecting the street to the front door. The backyard had drainage issues that caused ponds to form in certain areas and was otherwise neglected for many years.

THE SOLUTION

This design introduces a formal walk in front and expands the full sun planting area. The backyard gets a sense of structure that works with the existing site grades but contains the water runoff in creative ways.
