Project 10.
Residential Plan for New
Construction
in Mixed Light
This
South Atlanta professional couple wanted a comprehensive site plan
to personalize their brand new home's landscape and
distinguish their yard from others in the neighborhood
aesthetically, and delineate property lines. The
client desired a patio below the existing deck, with
stairs descending to the edge of the pond bordering the
back property line. The plan was to incorporate the
existing plant matter the builder provided. Due to their lifestyles, this couple
required a low maintenance landscaping.
THE SOLUTION
The Master Plan
met the clients' design objectives by establishing four
different plant beds on the property margins, filled
primarily with evergreen shrubs, ornamental trees and
ground covers. A flagstone patio is specified for
the back of the house and flagstone stairs lead to the
water's edge. The existing plant matter is
incorporated and in some instances relocation is
recommended for practical, aesthetic and/or plant
wellness purposes.
Special attention to year-round interest is shown; such
is essential when relying on low maintenance shrubs and
groundcovers to carry the show.
